This week I finally got to break the news. AWF Group, a 25 year old operation and New Zealand’s only recruitment firm listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange is purchasing the shareholding of The Madison Group.
Being an open and transparent person, I must admit that keeping something this big under wraps was tough but when the NZX says it’s the rules, then it’s the rules!
I am very privileged to lead the team at Madison and I’ve really enjoyed my three years to date. The founders Wynnis Armour and Marisa Fong had toiled many years to build Madison’s reputation and track record. When I first started, I wanted to ensure that with the changing of the guard our business’ entrepreneurial DNA didn’t change. A business that is always adapting and evolving gets stronger with time, and so I am very excited about us getting to this next stage.
AWF and Madison are a great fit. We have very little crossover in clients so we are incredibly complementary. Madison people are highly regarded by candidates and clients. The Madison culture is strong and drives great delivery. This won’t change. In fact, it really is just business as usual. Our structure remains the same, our people remain the same, as do their values. Continuing to harness all that’s made us successful is why AWF Group was interested in the first place. It does mean however, that we are now part of a listed entity which provides assurance that the business is transparent and is run to the highest standard. It means we have a remarkable platform for growth in capability, to the benefit of our candidates and clients.
There is huge job satisfaction in working for a New Zealand business whose core service is to resource New Zealand organisations and businesses. I am continuing this next leg of the journey and am looking forward to being part of an incredible chapter.
