Listening to music

Starting your day on the right foot is essential! It can set your mood for the rest of the day and will impact everything you do from the get go. For me, I find that when I get out of bed, chucking on some headphones and listening to the right tunes does just that! By listening to something that you love, it evokes the emotion and memories around that song and can lift you right back up.

For anyone that has ever met me, I am full of beans first thing in the morning, and I thought I would share a few of the songs I listen to when I get out of bed to start my day right!

Tina Turner – Proud Mary

“Good go getter” – Forget the snooze button, this will get you where you need to be!

Florence + The Machine – Dog Days Are Over

Get motivated and make it happen! Set the standard!

DJ Kool – Let Me Clear My Throat

Rock to the rhythm of the funky rhyme! Wiggle your way out of bed and get your swagger on!

Dusty Springfield – Son of a Preacher Man

Take it back to 1969 and bring that enthusiasm and shine – Smoothie time 🙂

Bill Withers – Lovely Day

Positive awakening by Mr Withers! Cruise and start your day, coffee in hand! Gentle starts.

Peter Bjorn and John – Young folks

Forget the public transport and walk to work!

Paolo Nutini – Pencil Full Of Lead

Nothing is going to bring you down this morning with this tune!

Coldplay – Vida La Vida

St Peter mightn’t be calling your name but this song will make you feel alive and well!

Many studies have shown the effect that music has on altering your mood and contributing to cognitive ability. People from all walks of life use music in different ways and for different reasons. The one thing that no one can deny is the connection between music and human emotion.
