Manager Financial Systems – Permanent:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Manager Financial Systems you will be responsible for leading change and evolving the Financial Systems of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). You will work closely with the Finance Leadership Team and business users to define requirements and develop an efficient and effective model to deliver various required services.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and Managing a team responsible for developing and maintaining FMIS structure, policy, and processes, information protection and supporting business groups
  • Working with colleagues across Organisational Capability and Services to ensure that Finance Systems form part of a cohesive Services experience for business managers and other users
  • Continually review and consider improvements to all elements of the finance team’s operations to strengthen and streamline processes together with reducing costs
  • Actively contribute to the development of finance’s strategy and business plan
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports including setting direction and establishing clear work programmes


We need someone who has:

  • Proven years of experience in leading a team responsible for Financial Systems implementation and management
  • Recognised experience working with Oracle
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting along with CA/ACA
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely, compelling, and concise advice to inform business decision making
  • Strategic capability to think longer term, identify risks and anticipate opportunities
  • Ability to communicate with, influence and gain trust and respect of management
