The Role:
The Mechanical HVAC Estimator forms a key part of our business development team, working with the Estimating Team, Suppliers and Sub Contractors on the preparation, submission, follow up and negotiation of tenders and quotations.
 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provision of accurate and timely tender bids having reviewed and understood the Project Specifications and Tender Drawings
  • Participate in meetings with Engineers and Project Managers to review specification and specific job approach, risks and opportunities/alternative strategies
  • Ability to assess and document non-specified project risks
  • Regularly follow up Tender submissions with customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers ensuring we are a preferred supplier for tender invitations and other unlisted opportunities
  • Follow through on all assigned tender submissions and quotations, maintain records on outcomes
  • Manage and coordinate onsite project activities

 
Skills and Experience:

  • Proven record of successful mechanical HVAC estimating experience / capability in a similar business environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role or environment
  • Demonstrate ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders / clients, peers and colleagues
  • Sound understanding of the New Zealand HVAC industry
  • Good IT literacy
  • Identify and chase market opportunities
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects
  • Preparing cost estimations
  • Assessing supplier and subcontractors’ cost estimates
  • Exceptional time management
