Payroll & Compensation Specialist

The Role: Reporting to the Asia Pacific Snr Human Resources Manager, as the Payroll & Compensation Specialist you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of payroll processing, maintaining internal controls as well as providing support for all other aspects of employee pay and compensation & benefits.

Day to day you will:

  • Work closely with external payroll provider to ensure a weekly payroll in accordance with employment contracts, enterprise agreements, awards and relevant State and Country legislation.
  • Manage and ensure payment of all on-costs as relevant to New Zealand and Australia. 
  • Development and management of reporting to support HR decision making.
  • Manage external relationships for payrolls and Company Superannuation plans in New Zealand and Australia.
  • First point of contact for Payroll system.
  • Maintain database security, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Prepare & redact employment contracts for all new employees.
  • Support Snr HR Manager on visa applications and immigration reporting requirements.
  • Analyse staff cost evolution and outsourced staffing cost evolution.
  • Prepare reports as required (e.g. Corporate Social Reporting).

Days/ Hours: Standard Business hours of work are 8.30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.

A team player who enjoys being a key component in the business and contributing to improving on systems efficiency and embrace the responsibility of being an authority in your area.   

  • At least 5yrs NZ experience in complete payroll capacity.
  • Degree in HR and/or Finance/Accounting or comparable qualification and experience. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive service attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Experience working with SAP and knowledge of Zambion would be ideal.
