Assistant Accountant

We are currently supporting one of our Healthcare clients in seeking an Assistant Accountant/Senior Accounts Administrator to support their Chief Accountant for a period of 6 months, based in Auckland Central with work from home flexibility.
 
About the Company: Our client offers comprehensive rehabilitation services that include health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, vocational consultants, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists and medical specialists.
 
About the Role: You’ll be supporting the Chief Accountant with the administration and processing of Provider Payments, Payroll for Employees, PAYE & WHT, transfer of ACC Payments and general support.
 

Daily responsibilities:

  • Calculate provider payments.
  • Prepare monthly non GST provider payments.
  • Make weekly payments to providers.
  • Prepare employee payroll.
  • Pay IRD on 5th and 20th of month.
  • Transfer ACC payments to interest bearing accounts.
  • Assist in EOY accounts preparation.
  • Assist with annual audit.

 
Essential Background, Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualification and/or experience is required.
  • Experience working with Xero.
  • Knowledge of Crystal Payroll would be advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills and an ability to think and work independently.
  • Capable of handling multiple processes and volumes of transactions.
  • A confident, proactive approach and a positive working style.
