About the Role:

The Business Development Manager will professionally represent the business, its products and service for the purpose of retaining and growing its client base and market share. The role will be B2B hunting working with a range of SME’s as well as large private and public sector organisations nationally. This is a newly created role to keep up with the businesses forecasted growth.

This is a pure hunting role where a self-sourcing leads, building pipelines and opening new doors for the account managers is required, ensuring the customer problems are met with the right product solution while receiving optimal service.

Key challenge will be understanding the different problems businesses face, adapting approach accordingly and aligning the correct product that will be the best solution for the business & fleet.  Key problem this role is solving is ensuring valuable business knowledge is retained, profit & client portfolio is protected and maintained, and continues to grow.

Day to day you will:

  • Build quality pipelines by developing business through calling warm leads from the CRM as well as cold calling from self-sourced leads, opening more doors for the business
  • You’ll be predominantly office based; however, you will be required to travel to see clients when necessary and will have autonomy to do so. Must be comfortable in a self-governing business development role, taking ownership of workload, pipeline, and outcomes.
  • You will be dealing with a broad range of customers daily from all walks of life, adapting to all the different personalities will be key!

About You:

You will be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Proven Results – You can demonstrate successful performance developing new business in a B2B sales environment with a solution selling approach. You can not only grow revenue & market share but to retain a portfolio of clients while effectively build quality pipelines and open doors.
  • Personality & Culture fit – You will want to stay and grow with a business and will be a good fit with the wider team.
  • Safe Pair of Hands – You can demonstrate ability to represent a business successfully through proven effectiveness in establishing rapport and trust with customers while successfully managing expectations
  • Negotiation – Can understands the value of what you are selling and can recognise when to say no to a customer if the outcome will not be equally beneficial to the business – not just making the sale to make a sale. You’ll have ability to negotiate with customers and push back when needed.
  • Adaptable – You’ll bring strong aptitude in adapting your sales approach depending on the client they are dealing with. You’ll have proven ability to close the smaller more transactional sales as well as larger deals that are more long game. If from outside of industry, you’ll need proven ability to pick up new product/industry quickly and have technical aptitude to do so.
