Te Tari Taiwhenua – Department of Internal Affairs makes a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders – and our Life and Identity Services Officers make this happen on a daily basis.
Currently we are looking for a number of people to fill temporary approximately 8-month assignment as Life and Identity Services Officers within the department. (Passport Surge Team)
The hours are Monday to Friday, between 8:30am – 5:00pm. With a start date of early July 2022.
For this role you will need to display:
- High standards of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage applications through our process, ensuring each application is compliant.
- Ability to learn systems, and the nuances of the role quickly.
- Confidence to contact customers as and when required to follow-up on information or documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work at pace within a team.
- Have experience across Microsoft Office suites, specifically Windows 10.
What you can expect:
- As a Life and Identity Service Officer, you will help support a team in a large Government Department. You will receive the training and support to hit the ground running, allowing you to provide a seamless internal processing and customer service approach.
- You will be processing passport applications, checking that all applications are complete and correct.
- You will check that each application meets the eligibility criteria and that photos submitted a fit for purpose and meet international standards.
- You will be provided with 2 weeks of classroom-based training followed by on continuous on the job support.
