The Ministry for Pacific Peoples

The Ministry for Pacific Peoples plays a dynamic role in the development of the Pacific community throughout New Zealand, and they’re extremely proud of their guardianship of Pacific knowledge, culture and identity.

As the principal advisor on policies and interventions that improve outcomes for Pacific Peoples, they bring the Pacific voice, perspective and understanding to government’s policy.

The Ministry for Pacific Peoples is, comparatively speaking, a small agency – but they pack a big punch when it comes to championing a thriving, resilient and prosperous Pacific Aotearoa. There’s a real sense of family and a tangible commitment to reciprocity throughout the organisation.

Pacific Aotearoa

Our Pacific communities are fast growing, young and dynamic, with untapped potential. Pacific Aotearoa places the aspirations of Pacific peoples at the centre of thinking and decision-making. It recognises their leadership role and strengths to drive change from within and for their own communities. Click here to read more about how we plan to achieve the Pacific Aotearoa vision.
